Toyota Land Cruiser V8 3UR-FE 5.7L Engine Timing Easy Steps

Follow the clear steps below to bind the engine timing

1 Set the position of all knock pins of cam and key of Crank in the same position as below in screenshot.

This step is necessory becuase without movement of Camshaft and Crankshaft you can not bind the timing of any engine
Kindly install the Crankshaft bolt temperorily and move with wrentch and move the Camshaft with wrentch like below in image.

2 Install the Camshaft chain tensioner on both side, Kindly must press and lock the tensioner with a pin or any necessory tool you have, After installation the Camshaft Gear do not forget to remove the pin or lock and must check each is pressable or not.

3 Install the engine's left side Camshafts chain as below in screenshots and after installation the chain, Install the Camshaft gears and must watch the timing is okay.

4 Install the engine's right side Camshafts chain as below in screenshots and after installation the chain, Install the Camshaft gears and must watch the timing is okay.

5 Install the Chain on Engine's right intake Camshaft gear and on Cranshaft gear, Kindly do this step with care after installation must inspect timing points are okay and clear, Must keep in mind first you need to install the right side Camshaft and Crankshaft chain.

6 Install the vibration damper with 2 bolts.

7 Install the tensioner slipper.

8 Befor install tensioner, Press it and lock it with the pin or any necessory tool you have

9 Install the tensioner with bolts

If you cannot install the chain tensioner slipper due to the tension's of chain, Kindly use the hexagonal portion of the camshaft to loosen the chain, and hten install the chain tensioner slipper.

10 Install the Chain on Engine's left side intake Camshaft gear and on Cranshaft gear, Kindly do this step with care after installation must inspect timing points are okay and clear, Must keep in mind first you need to install the right side Camshaft and Crankshaft chain.

11 Now install the vibration damper, tensioner slipper and tensioner with care. this step is like 6,7 and 8 No point.

12 Now tight the both Camshaft bolts with care as in below screenshots.
